: Prodigy fault code question

My prodigy is flashing S.H., which according to Tekonsha's site I either have a short on the blue wire, or the use of some testers will cause this. Assuming I created this fault code with my tester, what clears the code? Will it go away when the short is corrected, or is there a code clearing procedure?

On my P3 it'll reset itself once you restart the truck or cycle power to it. If you don't have a trailer hooked up sometimes a drop of water can trigger a short code on the connector on your truck, that's how mine does it because I broke the little door off that covers the jack.

I have had the same thing happen. We put the controllers on our work trucks and go through about 2 or 3 a year. When they work they are great, but they seem go out.

it detects current draw on that line and when its to high it will set the code. it usually sets as a resault of that line having a direct short to ground either through chaffing or water intrusion somewhere, as a correctly functioning trailer brakes have more reistance(less amp draw) than a direct shrot to ground.
