I have a set of 5 H1 8bolt Double bead locks. They painted right over the threads on the bolts. I cant seem to get the nut off the bolts to recenter them. The military put a couple layers of incredibly tough paint on them.

I got most of the threads clean with a wire wheel on my grinder. I was gentle so as not to gum up the threads.

I used my impact on them which is not very strong only 260ft/lbs. I just got another impact for Christmas that is 340ft/lbs. I'll try that but I thought someone might be able to help out.

You'll need to start them all with a breaker bar and a deep socket. I'm in the middle of doing 8 of these right now... :D when they start to go, squirt some motor oil on them, so you don't have to hear the horrible squeaking x 32.

Try some spray on gasket remover first it some times it will eat the paint. Once the paint is gone soak em real good with pbblaster. Hope this helps.

CARC is chem resistant paint. A good penetrating oil will work fine. Heat will also help but the fumes are going to be VERY toxic with that stuff. The wire wheel is a good idea, but make sure to run a die over them when you're done if you want them to last. Unfortunately this job requires the BFBB (big fawkin breaker bar) approach.

Just to throw it out there that carc paint isn't very good stuff to inhale if you are using a grinder with a wire wheel. Ask me how I know after a few CPAC's in the USMC. Use a least a mask or even a filtered respirator if you got one. Just a thought, cuz your health is nothing to play around with.

i had the same issue on the rims i got but i used as much force as i had to and i couldnt seem to screw anything up. I replaced the nuts because they were fucked from the get go but those studs are tough and you can really lay on em.

Angle grinder, grind off the nut, right near the surface, then use a hammer to poke the bolt through. Replace the bolt. They are about a $1 each. Should be replaced anyways by the look of them.

Go buy pb blaster, it has yet to fail me spray it a couple times for one day and come back the next and they will come right off. Pb blaster is a penetrating lube.
