I have a chev dana 60 in my yj with a astro steering box. I want to be able to turn as sharp as I can. My 60 has limmiters on both knuckles. Can I remove them or adjust them to allow for more travel? what do I look for when adjusting them ? binding ? pros /cons ... Thanks

Usaully you can't adjust them far since the limiting factor will be the axle shafts. So unless you machine the axle shafts I would just leave the stops

What pitman arm and steering configuration are you planning on running? I need to redo mine. I have an astro box with a wagoneer pitman arm, ballistic highsteer arms, and heim joints for tre's. The problem is that the 7" pitman hangs way out there and gets hit on the rocks all the time. Plus I don't come close to hitting the limiters on the knuckles. I would have been better off running an inverted t style steering, then I'd probably get closer to turning all the way to the limiters. When I redo it, I plan on getting rid of the astro box completely and just relocating the yj box to accomodate the stretch. The pitman arm is just way too exposed with the astro box.

Here is what I did with my Astro Van box...

It's way back behind the radiator...
I MAY need to install a longer Pitman Arm, but for now I have full sweep left and right.
