I've got a line on an entire Mustang front clip with the 3.8L, AOL tranny (I think... It's an automatic), harness, computer and everything for a real good price (about $350). I know AA makes an adapter for the AOL to the Toyota t-case. I was just wondering who if anybody has done a similar swap. I've done the search and found some good stuff, but it's all pretty general "what if".

I have two 22RE's that will need some work. Both need timing chain kits and one has a blow HG. Both have leaks in several spots and I just want a little more power.

I know the 3.8L will get a new HG because that's a problem with them. However, that's easy with the motor already out.

I've got dual Toyota t-cases and a 5 speed Toyota tranny that probably needs some work (squeels real bad when you coast).

I figured, at that price the swap would be no more or not much more than fully rebuilding one of the 22REs as I had planned with a new cam, header, and such to give it a little more torque.

Do it, yes AA makes a adapter for the AOD to a toyota T-case. It would involve welding in motor mounts. BTW you can always swap in a S/C SuperBird 3.8 later.

do not do it is my opinion ford 3.8 is a head cracker and would not be worth the energy. just imagine walking out to your truck and try turning on the engine and something that appears to be a bad starter come along. so you replace the starter and still nothing. what do you do? grab a 5/8 spark plug socket and pull the spark plugs because one of those cyliders is full of water. happened 2 times to my neighbor in one month on 2 different cars a 94 continental and a 96 t bird. I worked for several shops and dealt with many car dealers and customers with this problem and don't even try to get away with a head gasket because within the week thelower end will go. find a more dependable motor same problem with the toy 3.0. if you would like to got to a v6 try a better motor.
