When I'm out wheelin or in deep snow I notice that I sometimes get a hopping-banging noise in the front end. Hard to describe. It's a 98 TJ with a 3.5" Tera Flex lift with the old style arms and Pro Comp coils. I replaced the bushings in the lowers, the stock UCA look good. I'm running 33 with a Tru Trac. It is in upper end of wheel spin, almost feels like axle wrap loading and unloading. Best way to describe it I guess. I think my motor mounts are good as is the tranny mount. I bought a RE Pan Hard bar last year, it's tight. Jeep has 50K miles on it. Hope that's enough for the other TJ owners or those that are familiar to run with.

U-joints in the front axle in good shape? Could also be your locker binding up and popping. I had a lock-rite once that made a racket when it got bound up.

The tru trac is more of a posi and a crappy one at that so I doubt that is it. My U joints look good so do my ball joints. I'm not sure if this is a common TJ thing, I'm about the only person I know that has one so I don't have a large number of people to poll from.
