Yeah just like with the real rigs this question is probably highly debatable, but what are the favorites?

I have probably 100 sets of tires.

I am personally running the Hot bodys Rovers right now. They are the best all out comp tire I have used to date.

The Losi claws are still a great tire and work well, I am just liking the extra height of the HB's.

I have heard a bunch of good stuff about the new Proline Chisel's, but haven't got my hands on them yet.

I run flatirons for bashing and Losi carvers for rocks....

just looking at the top spots at national events the cougars seem to be the best..

there lots of new tires hitting the market now it really all comes down to local terrain and truck setup in the end though..

i run the flat irons m3 compound because they look just like a bfg krawler(my favorite 1:1)...but they are only slightly out performed by my sons losi claws on dry rock. i have a better time when things get muddy or moist dirt/moss covered rocks and logs with the flat irons as the lugs grab for traction in that stuff

I ran the 2.2 Rock Krushers (Krawlers) because of the height, 5 1/2" but since I'm going for the comp thing now, I ditched those and went with the very little clearance but sticky Losi Rock Claws.

cougars have a little more height.. if you want a good tire with traction and height try the HPI grabbers, or the hotbodies tire... there both tall..

The rock claws seem to be doing great for east coast wheeling.

I picked up a set of HPI's Rock Grabber tires a few weeks ago and haven't had a chance to try them on my rig, but a few others in my club have and have had good results (running the front tires reversed, rear tires normal):

I've been using Panther Cougar's and they are hard to beat....
I've also made some hybrid tires that worked decently.... Pro Line Masher/Moab hybrids and Masher/Hammer hybrids....

Rock Carvers are great for smooth rocks are side climbs when it's really hot out.
Rock Claws are a great all around tire for most any temperature and I haven't found any bennefit in running them backwards on the front.
The Panthers are flat out Awesome with double mem. foams in the fronts and single mem. foams in the rears. BUT!,,,Eritex beadlocks are the cats meyow for running these tires or any other for that matter. When running front extra heavy and rear heavy wheels, the panthers conform to rocks just like pressing your hand into a memory foam mattres. The Panthers conform so well, they need to run some lugs further down the side wall.
The HB's have the potential to be a very competitive tire if they get the compound right to work with mem. foams better due to their height.
The best way to make any tire work well tho is to run heavy wheels or wheel weights.
That's just my .02:flipoff2:

Ran the Rock Claws all day today, I have no complaints at all. I just skimped on some of the foam width on the rear so I have minor sidewall folding, but nothing that would stop me from kicking the rocks ass.:D

NVM looks like you were saying the carvers were doing better sidehilling then the flatirons..

reason I asked about foams is that the stock Memory foam in cold weather is no good..

This tire looks good, but pricey. Panther Cougar with Pro Line Moab sidewalls:

You get the traction that the Cougar is well known for with a stiffer sidewall with lugs....

You can get it here: http://xtreme-rc-hobbies.net/store/product_info.php?cPath=29_49&products_id=341

I have run all the Losi's,Flatiron's and Hammer's. I still go back to Panther's,with homemade hybrid foam/memory foam. The Panther/Moab hybrid works great on a heavier rig but didn't work well on my lightweight setup.

cut and shut panthers

basically you cut and reglue panthers so they fit the 1.9 rims

Tires are only part of the equation. foams and weight come into play. One tire works for one person not the other

But I have ran moabs--they sucked

Ran M2 mashers--not a bad tire for the wet stuff but still not enough traction.

Losi rock claws--excelent tire and ran against the panthers with equal results--plus never saw a losi rip a sidewall unlike the panthers.

RC4wd Rock crushers--neat tire and I spent quite abit of time trying to make them work--along with a writeup. But end result--not a comp tire

Currently running the HPI Rock Grabber's. And only ran them while getting my rig setup and they seem to be working well.

I've got a set of cut and shut 1.9 Panthers I scored in a trade I'll probably never use. If you want them, PM me and I'm sure we can work something out:grinpimp:
