: Engine bay clean-up

what all can you remove from the engine bay while still keeping it run correctly or side affects. and pics if you have done any of this.

Not sure what kind of emissions testing you have where you live but its tough to remove much of anything without side effects while still using the stock carb and computer system (assuming its not injected). The main thing is the air filter canister can be replaced/moved without compromising the way the engine runs, probably will make it run better with an aftermarket setup. Consider installing a weber carburetor, once you ditch the stock carb you can remove quite a bit but again, not sure what your emission situation is so keep that in mind.

tbi and no emissions where i live and this ain't gonna get driven on the street but wil have plates and insurance for beer runs after we get back to camp and so it can play on the river

factories are cheap and don't put many unnecessary things under your hood. you can't get rid of much. perhaps a different air cleaner, or a header would clean things up. you could take the horn out......

bass man has eliminated most of the rats nest of vaccume lines and wiring. i think he is running the stock carb too.
