: Help me pick a BUIS
Roktoys84 12-30-2008, 01:24 PM I need to pick up a sight for the eeek I ordered. I'm going to run an Eotech/Acog eventually so I might as well get a flip up buis now. Looking at GG&G flip up sight, or maybe the ranging version. Trying to keep the price as low as possible. Any others I should look at? Larue maybe?
:flipoff2:
Codyy 12-30-2008, 01:37 PM me too. I like the ranging one. Any experience with it? Can I chop down a Pine tree with it?

mjs408 12-30-2008, 02:15 PM How about a cut down rear carry handle, cheap and easy. Also, an ARM 40SP might be a good choice and less money than the GGG
misterfubar 12-30-2008, 02:17 PM Don't forget to get a BUOCIPICBUISF.
NastyNate 12-30-2008, 03:13 PM I've had great luck the the ARMS 40 and 40L. Simple, reliable, and inexpensive.
TNToy 12-30-2008, 03:14 PM Back-up-optic-.......-back-up-iron-sight-fails ???
I plan on building a gun with an aimpoint and no irons. *shrug*
The chopped-down carry handles seem to be a simple, inexpensive solution. But they don't flip out of the way, right?

...Carried in Pocket in case...
When your main optic fails you go to your backup optic, when that fails you go to your back up iron sights, and when those fail you reach in your pocket and slap your BUOCIPICBUISF on. Every true tactical operator should have one.

Ya'll are dumbasses. Don't you know that assault weapons are designed to be fired from the hip?
It's all spray and pray, you don't need to aim.
That's what newsweek tells me anyway. :flipoff2:

I really like the ARMS 40.
And since it has fallen out of vogue for trendier units with fancy names, they can be had at a pretty good price if you are happy with a used one.

I have that exact site... matter a fact I've had all of the GG&G sites at one point or another. This one is by far my favorite! very low profile as well... which was a problem i had ran into earlier with mounting scopes over the top of the BUIS. I say get it... you wont regret it.
EDIT: BTW... if you wont be mounting a scope..... get the GGG A2 version... it is built a little tougher. The flip up front site/gas block is awesome also!
Red Dwarf 12-30-2008, 09:32 PM I went with a YHM 9680 and it works pretty well. There is a vendor on arfcom named brightflashlights.com that absolutely smoked everyone else on price. Heck of a nice guy (no web store, you have to call him). Gave me a 5% discount for retired military and shipped fast. IIRC, I ordered it Friday am and had it Monday pm.
