what is with the 327 Federal? Seems like a 38+P that is hard to find ammo for, I think it will go the way of the 45 GAP.

Well it does have something going for it that the 45 GAP doesn't. You can fire 32 H&R Mag. and .32 S&W Long along with the 327 round. And, you get 1 extra round in a compact revolver. 6 shots vs. 5 of 38 special.

It'll probably turn into one of those cartridges with a very small but devoted following. I could maybe see myself getting it if I had carpal tunnel or arthritis and didn't already reload, but since I already have .30 carbine and .357 magnum, and have no problems with recoil, I don't see a point in getting .327 Federal. The extra round in a snubbie is negligible to me; I'd rather have 5 .357 magnums than 6 .327 magnums.

The cool thing about .327 federal is that the pressure limit is absolutely insane, even when compared to .357 or .44 magnum.

X2

However more cup=sharper recoil

So a standard 38spl is probobly more comfortable to shoot in a stubby revolver and a 158JHP have more overall engergy.

And it's probably an eighth to a quarter of an inch larger in diameter vs. a five shot .357 mag, as well :p

Given a five shot .357 magnum cylinder blank, if you use .327 fed instead, it can chamber 6 rounds.
