: Magnifiers
DIY4X 12-30-2008, 09:06 PM School me on magnifiers.
How do they work? Are they basically a Fixed power scope? Or, are they a magnifying glass?
Will they work in front of any type of optic be it Red dot, Scope with adjustable zoom or whatever else?
aloharover 12-31-2008, 09:40 AM As far as I can tell they are a fixed power scope.
i have only ever seen them and used them myself mounted between optic and eye ball.
They work with Aimpoints, red nots, Eotechs, etc just fine.
I am not sure it would work stacking it behind another magnified optic, haven't tried.
i really like them. I definately want to get a flip to the side mount for mine.

aloharover 12-31-2008, 10:10 AM yeah I am waiting for an ADM version :D.
For now its mounted in an ADM QD aimpoint mount. Works perfectly. But I would rather not keep it in a pocket when its not in use.

Dont forget the tactical paint mixer, ya never know when you'll have to mix up a couple gallons of paint in the middle of a fire fight.:clown:
:shaking:
TNToy 12-31-2008, 02:36 PM And the armadillo bottle opener. Gotta have the LaRue bottle opener.

Interesting, So it goes eyeball, magnifier, optic. For some reason I was thinking it was eyeball, optic, magnifier.
I'm basically wondering if having a 2x magnifier in front of a ???X scope would allow clearer viewing. Been reading up on focal lengths and this that the other and haven't learned much.
Thanks!

The 2x would double the magnification of the scope that is behind the 2x. I doubt that you would have enough rail space to have both a magnifier and a scope to be able to do this though.

Could possibly be done on some AR's. Rail extending out onto the handguard. Not sure though. Haven't found the exact combination yet.

 Bravo.
Apparently if you spend a shit ton of money, he'll even send you a green Armadillo Xmas ornament. :shaking: CNC is easy once it's been programmed, there is no need to charge that much for a mount. Oh, and Mark LaRue is a fucking douche and sucks at life. I wouldn't bat an eye if a mount slipped out of the CNC and shot across the room and popped him in the side of the head, nor would I mind if his nutsack hanging, cocksucking fanclub at ARF fell into the ocean with concrete shoes.

Full length forearm, you have over 16" of rail. plenty of space.
