Without too much detail, how strict is Nevada on smog. I may sell a Cali truck that will not pass in cali to someone who says he can register it in Nevada. I just want to protect myself & not have it come back to haunt me.

Thanks.

From my experience in Vegas, pretty strict. Either you pass or you don't..

All smog tests are a pass/fail type. I'm more wondering about if they require C.A.R.B. approval numbers on aftermarket engine components that have been installed on vehicles reqiuring smog inspections. Also, how old does a vehicle have to be before it becomes smog exempt? In Cali it's 1975 & older.

Probably depends on what county. I think in some areas they still have tail pipe only testing so no looking under the hood at modifications. Could be wrong though.

NV smog is for Washoe and Clark counties ONLY

Years are 67 and up, including some diesels w/ low GVW

It depends on what county you live in. I live in Storey County (Virginia City) and we don't have to smog our vehicles at all, WOOHOOO!!!!!!!

If its a small town, chances are there is no smog, (unless its in washoe or Clark).

I have a lot of ..... not very smog friendly equipment... no-one has ever complained...usually if it passes they don't care.

Technicaly in vegas they can fail you for puting a fram air filter on your car. it depends on how big of a dick head they are. All small towns i beleive don't have to smog vehicles yet. i know you don't in jean. there's a little old lady that drives 15 muscle cars there... heh
