I know a lot of you hard cores won't be interested in these, I would not....however if you have a stocker and don't want to trim body panels these are a viable alternative........feel free to copy, steal and plagerize Josh's design

Visible here is the reciever hitch blank, welded to the frame, and the pin allowing them to be removed.....there is also a 7/16" bolt on the rear of each to provide tension so they don't rattle.

Main sections are 2x3" 1/8" wall tubing. This shot shows how they are barely noticable.

great design, thats exactly what I've been looking for. The only problem I have is my mufflers are already tucked under there:D

A quick trip to Tellico would solve that problem for you, crunch, crunch.

Nice design. Very similar to the ones we made a few months ago.
We finally got to use them on our last trip. Came down hard on a rock and only made a 1" scratch in the metal.

I would love to hear the engine through straight headers anyway:flipoff2:

Those are very similar to the ones I got from EPOCHS in Colo. a few months ago. The only difference being that mine mount in three places. The design works great, and has been Hammers Tested;)

SLOAN ASKED:
What brand are those wheels?

They are Panther Custom Wheels, PCW is what the center caps have on them, a new line being stocked from one of my suppliers, I like 'em....BTW they are 3.5" backspacing, so no spacers required...
Note to Cad Whore, get a crossover and run single exhaust on your rig, before you leave one of those mufflers laying on the traile...

Butch,

They look great and I know they work! We have two rigs up here in Portland outfited with sliders that look just like the one's Josh built. The only dif. is they did not do the cool reciver hitch disconects. One of the guys even built little ones for the back 1/4 panal's (Frame bolt on). I will lift some dig. video of them from our recent trip down to the Rubicon.

BTW, you missed out! We had one heck of a trip, snaped drive line and a 300+ lbs bear visit camp to EAT an ice chest! FUN STUFF! I will post up some video stills of from the trip.

the removeable set up is what i've got on my nerfs on the 68. i used round tubing for the nerfs and we welded one stub shaft to the frame just behind the rear tire and welded another stub shaft in the hole where the crossmember is over the xfer. i use pins with the holes drilled in them for cotter pins and have the large "safety pin" kinda thingys in place of the cotter pins. works great.

Got any pics of the removable ones? I've been pondering something similiar.

my headers are setup outside the frame rails (MAF) I don't think there's a easy way to get to single exhaust without changing headers:confused: is there:D

You can change to Rams Horns and do it, if you have the fenderwell exit headers, no.
