move my gas block forward 5.75" on my S12,after I cut my barrel to 16" + a choke ?

I'm thinking I would really like the look of it.
My concern is the gas system, specifically the ports. Any reason it wont work ?
I'd like to be able to just move everything forward, if not then I'm guessing I'd have to make the gas chamber longer. Thats the only issue I can see.

What am I missing ?

it may have too much volume of air in there for the powder to be able to compress enough to make it cycle. are you making the piston longer too? if so, it may be ok then

You may have a problem getting it to cycle if you put it too far forward. If it is too far forward, the gas wont have time to cycle the piston before the wad exits the barrel. If that happens, you may be able to drill the gas port slightly oversize to compensate. Just something to think about before you get too far along with it.

I haven't cut anything up yet, well not much anyway.
I'd like to just make a longer gas piston and gas tube. Then just move everything forward 5.75"
I think the gas chamber could stay the same size I'd just need bigger gas ports. I think. So I'm askin

Contact Tony at Tromix. Rumore@Tromix.com He has done a lot of off the wall stuff with the S12 platform. He made a .458 Socom Saiga and dropped a buck with it.

I'd be interested if he repiles to you. Go to his vendor section on Saiga Forum and post to him. Its very LaRue-ish the way he is treated...be aware...

He is highly praised but unlike LaRue from what I have seen he is actually willing to give advice to people doing their own work.

They do worship him, but he seems to be down to earth, and helpful.
