Hi guys - new to Pirate 4x4 - maybe you can help me source an odd part(s)...
I'm going to upgrade the dually drum setup on my rear D70 (which came from an 89 dodge 1 ton chassis cab truck) to disc brakes. I've seen the K20 front rotor upgrade and read many of the threads on here... but I figure why stop at that size rotor when I'm going to run 20" wheels? I've also seen the 14.25?" rotor kit vendor X is advertising on here... which I assume is 2-3" larger than the k20 rotors. But does anyone know of an even larger rotor that can be used in a disc brake swap with 20" wheels? I guess for that matter what larger rotor options do I have for my front D60 which is out of a Chevy CUCV?

Thanks...

measure the actual inside diameter of your 20's, you may not be able to fit much more than a 14.25" rotor. run 14.25s and some soft pads from ebc, youll have all the stopping power in the rear you could ever want.

When u put it that way - makes a lot of sense... thank you.
How about upgrading the front to the same size rotor?

For what it's worth, in my 7000lb truck, with 49's on 16.5s. I have stock Chevy front discs, and crappy stock 3/4 ton drums out back, and have no issues stopping, or locking up all 4 when needed.

Understood... I guess my 85 ramcharger stopped with no issues on 39.5 swampers with the axles I described above.

http://www.ezpickens.com/josh/ramcharger/ (many of the movies on this old page don't work) Here are a couple I have on youtube

I'm taking the same running gear and swapping it into a rust free 90 model ramcharger from GA (something you don't see in WV 8-)
Moving the front axle 10" forward and "flat fendering" the front fenders.
Moving the rear axle 6" rearward and enlarging the wheel well 12" rearward.

Fabbing in ~3" more lift via the spring hanger relocations and running the same 8" skyjacker springs I had on the 85. Hopefully keeping it as low as possible with 49"s.

Any suggestions from the masses - let 'em fly... Just now started fabbing up the front frame extension etc. etc.

My blazer is only 2" over stock, with 49's.......It's stupid low and needs about 2" more lift to be comfortable.
Do tons of reading, and don't ask too many dumb questions.

And post pics(start a project thread) on here when you get going.

Sombody listed a bigger 2 piston caliber off the rear of a late model C60 that uses the same mounting set up as a front 60 but I have not been able to locate that thread to find all the details. Maybe you will get lucky and somebody has that thread. I asked the same basic quistion in "general" a couple weaks a go and didn't get any reply Good luck.
