I always used to shoot on private land, but it has since been sold off and developed. I haven't really done much shooting since then. In my search for somewhere to shoot my Saiga 12 I found that the closest range to my house won't allow it. Clicking around their site I found this under the range rules:
Sorry no AK 47 or SKS or similar firearms allowed.
By similar we mean an AK or SKS that someone wants to call something else.

Other autoloaders are fine such as AR15's M1's and the like.

Why? If you were a Veteran you would understand. Please do not call us to debate the issue.

Hey, I understand his range his rules, but it still doesn't help me any :flipoff2:

My other findings are hour+ road trips or indoor ranges where you can't use your own ammo ($$$) and it's slug/00 buck only.

Looks like it's back to finding someone that has a big enough chunk of private land they want to shoot on again.

That's just lame about the Veteran thing. I belong to an awesome range. No ro's, 1000 yards if you need it,dirt cheap, hardly anyone ever there and up in the nice woods as well. Of course all of these sucked on Saturday when my battery gave up the ghost and I was alone.

You should call and ask them if Mausers and Mosin Nagants are allowed. If they say yes tell them Zumbo would be proud and they can go fuck themselves.
