Thanks bud,
Old Scout 09-08-2001, 12:44 PM The Scout II was built from 1971 to 1980. Some of the 4&6 clyinder scout will have 18 spline axles. ALL scouts are 5x5.5

LostIt 09-08-2001, 01:16 PM I know it sounds wierd, but Isuzu Rodeos had rear D44's. I don't know the exact width, but I know it falls into the range you are looking at. An added bonus is that these vehicles are six lug and many can be found with factory disc brakes. I brought this subject up before so do a search in the toyota truck section.
Old Scout 09-08-2001, 01:36 PM HAVE YOU BEEN HERE: http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/bible/index.html

Oh ya duh!, i was there a long time ago, i forgot about it!!
Anyways i do have a question, what is:
>>>"Dana Diffs Carrier Break"<<<
>>"3.73 and down; 3.92 and up"<<
Are there 2 different carriers??
thanks for the help bud,
later,
Jeepdude_Jay 09-08-2001, 05:40 PM Yep. I would bet that most if not all the GWaggies will have the 3.73- flavor.
Doublecab 09-08-2001, 06:04 PM there are diffrent carriers. I had to buy a new carrier to run 5:13's in my dana 44. I think the break is 3:91's and most came stock with higher gears than that so you will need to get a new carrier when you go with your 4:88's. Ran me 50$ for one from randy's.
Doublecab 09-08-2001, 06:06 PM also you might want to check the rear axles of the waggys. I think there either dana 44's or 60's. Not positive though. Just look under one of the early 80's models and it should say if it's a 44 or 60 right by the diff.

Is there an echo in here?
BTW, no 20's in these "late" GWs (and Wagoneers of these vintage are XJs, not FSJs).

No 60s, just 44s from late 86 - 91 on the GWs. From 80-late 86 the rears are the HD AMC 20 (centered).

Look at the "bible" to confirm what I was talking about. it even list the 67-80 waggy to have a rear dana 44.

Charly 09-09-2001, 05:52 AM Yeah, but most pre 80 Wags have Quadratrac tcases with offset 44 rears. so I don't think that would help him. <IMG SRC="smilies/eek.gif" border="0">
