This is just begging to be made into a real gun.

I am thinking .308 using g3 mags and a working chainsaw.
If you haven't played the game you should, just to melee someone with this gun.
It would defiantly get some looks at the range.

At 13 pounds, their "weapons grade plastic" model weighs more than my G3 bastard rifle. But adding a chainsaw, even a halfassed one, would add a bunch of weight--I'd guess ten pounds, maybe more.

This is looks to be a SBS after reading about his build and him cutting down an 870....wonder if he has a tax stamp.... :D

EDIT:
Looks like he has "deactivated" the 870....from the bottom of the page....
"I had the option to cut down a real Rem 870 or use a resin replica from Kip. Remaining true to the original mission of this prop, [to build it like the originals prop makers did,] I decided to go with the real one. The only change will be to use a dummy wooden dowel barrel, deactivate the bolt, weld a spacer block in front of the receiver, forever making the receiver of the 870 from ever beign able to add a real barrel, or chamber a round. Thats the law. This way, I still get the real parts and keep it legal. One of the best sources for real Remington 870's are local pawn shops. These are very common, and can be had for as little as $150. Ask for an "Express" these have plain stocks, and a matt finish. I also got a resin replica from Kip, and I will use it along with the extra parts I have to build a stunt version M41-A."

Why would you go to all that trouble and not apply for a $200 stamp or 2 to make it functional?

Depending on the owner's state of residence, a tax stamp may not be a possibility.
Also, it looks like the chainsaw thing has a long enough barrel to "be" a rifle, but lacks a "stock". I don't know if the hand hole in the forend within the chain (how scary would it be to have your hand inside a running chainsaw blade?) would count as a foregrip, but if it did, I think it'd be an AOW. If you added a flip down buttpad that flipped up into the "stock extension", even if the stock was uselessly short, it'd probably be a legal rifle without a tax stamp.
Edit: If I were going to hang a chainsaw like that, I think I'd interlock the saw activation such that I had to actually squeeze both sides of the foregrip with the hand that's through the blade, so that I couldn't inadvertently activate it with a hand outside of it.
