Sorry if it's been posted before, I've been away for almost three months and couldn't find any pictures...did the paint job turn out alright? Got any pikshas?
I've been so Cruiser-deprived since May it's not even funny....

I had a body shop screw up set back. When he mentioned running a bead of window sealant around the Aussie sliders I didn't realize that he meant using it like body filler and needless to say removing it hasn't been fun. I am getting it painted after Labor Day when my work week goes to a Monday/ Tuesday weekend off. How's Texas?:D

Now how in the heck do you take a job in Texas and end up spending most of your time in New York???:flipoff2:

Well, Pfizer's training facility is in New York, upstate, and I've been here three weeks. Can't wait to get back home, I miss my wife, my dog and my Land Cruiser....! :)
Speaking of Land Cruisers, I will be in the market for an FJ40 (again) towards the fourth quarter of 2002. Looking for an excellent body and frame mostly, interested in a drivetrain only if it's 1975+. Not interested in the presence or condition of a hardtop, presence or condition of the interior, paint, and/or original equipment, this is going to be a wheeling machine. If you know or hear of anything reasonable, please let me know!

Henry, it's good to see you're still alive. Hope the new job is working out like you planned. I'll keep my eyes open for a 40. I've been looking for several friends for a couple months now. Do you remember my buddy Matt? He finally bought a 40 a few weeks ago that came from S.F. It's a decent trail truck. The owner had been building it for quite a while but never really wheeled it with all the "new" stuff like lockers, TBI 350, SM420 etc. so it wasn't really abused. He's pretty excited to have something he can play a bit harder with.
Take care and say hello to Kate.

60seriesguy, call me once you get that cruiser. Since its going to be just a wheeling machine I got a cage for ya:D. Won't fit a top besides a bikini but for a trail rig its great...

Thanks for the kudos, people, it's been pretty tough here in training, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! Kate's been a trooper all by herself in Austin, too!
Please keep your eyes open, all I'm looking for is the basis for a long-term project, so I do NOT want to overpay for a gutted truck. Not interested in pretty trucks, re-painted trucks, bondoed trucks, fancy and/or OEM interiors, and the presence of a hardtop and/or softop isn't priority. Good condition doors would be great, too.
Is this unrealistic????
I like to pretend that I am well connected in the Cruiser world and that finding a decent truck won't be hard, but the reality is that I've been looking on and off for YEARS and have never come across any particular good deals (for myself)....I do seem to have a knack for finding Land Cruisers for other people!
