I am putting an NV4500, NP241C (driver drop), and LS1 into my '67 Bronco and have hit a snag. I did a ton of searching before buying everything separately and the 241C was supposed to bolt up to the NV4500 without issue. The bolt patterns and splines match up but the output shaft of the NV4500 does not seem long enough to engage the transfer case. The NV4500 is out of a '95 Burban and the 241C is from a '98 Burban (originally mated to a 4L80E). The only thing I can possibly think of is that the 241 for the 4L80E is different but everywhere I've searched says they are identical. I am rather irritated that they don't bolt up as you can imagine. I need help!

I know that there are two different 241C inputs.

That will really suck if that's the case (no pun intended). Anybody know if the input shaft can be swapped easily on a 241? Does anyone have a pic of the 241 for the NV4500? Thanks for the reply.

I have a 93 4500 with a 241 drivers drop on it. As far as I remember, the 32 splinee input it uses is the same length as the 27 spline that every other 241 uses.

if yours isn't deep enough, measure itfrom the front face of the input shaft to the front face of the case.I probably won't be using mine so I would possibly sell/trade it off if it will work for you.

Thanks for the info I will measure it when I get home from work. Is there any chance you could shoot me a pic of the t-case for reference?

After doing some more looking and searching it looks like I might just have the wrong adapter plate on the 241. Does the 4L80E use a different transfer case adapter plate than the 4500?

shouldn't need an adapter to bolt it on a nv4500. leave out the adapter and slap it on.

Wow, if that's it I'm going to feel dumb...

I didn't use an adaptor for my junk... 1992 NV4500 and a 1993 Chevy NP 241...but both have to be 32 spline so I had to swap out the input gear and then mine bolted right up.

Yup, I just needed to remove the adapter. It's hard to see with 2 inches of muck caked on it. Maybe someday I'll learn to not try and bolt things up without sleep. :shaking: Thanks guys.
