Ive got a stumble/miss going on with my newly swapped 16 valve in my samurai. I would like to check the timing but what wires do I jump on the aldc connecter in order to do this? and is the correct timing 8*? Also from the reading I've done on here in the past hour maybe I have a grounding issue Ive got one ground from the battery to the motor and one from the dizzy to the firewall. should a run a ground from the battery to the firewall as well?.

Thanks
Ben

Hey Ben, hope you are Well !

Anyways, I believe this is the info you are looking for to "freeze the advance" to time properly.

Jumper 4 to 5 (6pin) or C to D (4pin)

Was not sure if you had 4 or 6 pin. (DUH, re-read your post.. you have the 4 pin plug)
I believe you time off the flywheel but not 100% sure on that.

Oh, and a Ground from the Battery to the Body, and a ground from the FRAME to the Motor should be fine. Remember, that your Ground usually goes to the starter in most cases in a "factory" scenario.

And to help you out with the timing, here is the Shop Manual: http://www.acksfaq.com/trackerfsm/96-FSM-v1-6A.pdf

Take care man!

Thanks Val, I thought about timing it off the flywheel but I didnt line up the marks when I installed it, I tried to time it off the front pulley but the marks seem way off. Ive got this crazy miss some times and some times it runs fine so I dont know what the hell is going on, I've got new plugs, wires, cap and rotor and the damn thing is still doing it. got any suggestions? would a bad MAF cause this? it had a hole in it when I bought the tracker it came out of. I epoxied the hole shut but who knows if that worked. Also it sounds like getting a code read off of it is impossible
