I live and work in Sacramento and Fairfield. Most of my work is in the 707/530/916

I need to get a wireless card for my laptop. We have Verizon cellphones and they work great. But my BIL had a Sprint card that was pretty fast on his laptop. Just seeing what the consensus is.

Sprint is the fastest on flat land, but won't work for crap (in my experience) in the foothills.
Verizon was almost as fast, but works sooooo much better here in outlying GV. but whatever you do with verizon DON'T go over your limit...
5 gb = 60 bucks a month
6.5gb = $400 a month  no joke, that was my bill one month.

I have sprint and have been using it for years with the data plan. I modem tether to my laptop from the blackberry and it is quite fast. I haven't been charged anything extra from my plan for usage but I also have the 'simply everything' plan for it...

What he said...Our crew of 10 has had both. I was the only one to keep my verizon when the company switched to sprint because it didn't work in the foothills.
The Verizon works fine in Georgetown and Sprint has No coverage there.

If your crackberry is not on the list, just google the model + modem and you'll find a link.
