Sceep,
Depends on the size of the ram you are planning to use. The model # you mentioned has only 4.5 cubic inches of displacement per revolution. The valve I use is the model #211-1010 and it has 9.7 cubic inches per/rev. I use it with a 2.5x8 ram and it gives me about 4 turns lock to lock.

Figure your ram volume and divide that # by how many turns lock to lock you desire and that will dictate the displacement of the steering valve you will need. The 1007 would take almost 9 turns to operate my ram from full left to full right. TOO slow IMHO. Much quicker than 4 turns lock to lock and they become a real PITA to control on the road. :D Hope this helps you decide on the right steering valve!

Steve, what is the ratio of revs left to right? I've heard if you don't use a double ended cylinder you'll have like 2.5 revs in one direction and like 1.75-2 revs in the other direction. True? what pump are you using/recommend? Thanks! Steve

Hey Steve, can you tell me what the numbers on my Char-Lynn for me? I bought it without knowing the specs. I was told it was 6 turns lock to lock with a 2 inch ram.

Yes it is true that the turns one way are fewer than the other due to the volume displaced by the ram piston. My set up is about 3.5 in one direction and 4.1 or so in the other. NOT noticeable while driving. I run a Vickers pump with 4.0 GPM output and 2500 PSI (changed the relief valve for 1500 PSI), although, a stock p/s pump will work just fine. I have a buddy running hydra-boost brakes with full hydro. He is using a Saginaw pump and it does just fine.

Madmarx,
I will have to check my book on the Char-Lynn when I get home tonight to find the specs on the valve you have. Will post when I find out.

Madmarx,
Sorry, my listings of the Char-Lynn valves is incomplete and I couldn't find any info on the valve you have. You may wanna check with Eaton.

Are you sure that the 1058 (211 ->1058<- 001) isn't 1048??

I dont have a number listed for 1058, but I do have a listing on 1048. If that is what you have it is an open center, load reactive,valve that displaces 5.9in^3 .

The number is definitely 1058. I'll take a pic tomorrow. Thanks for checking Sean and Steve. The PDF from eaton does not list it either....

Called that number and they couldn't find a listing for any valve starting with 210. and that is what is stamped on the plate so i am not sure what to do. he said most valves came with o-ring fittings but he didn't know what size.

well i ordered SAE 10 fittings so if those aren't right then i am screwed.

Edit: looks like they are SAE 8 o ring fittings.

I digging in old thread here. I have a orbital valve Eaton 2411093002, 25-98, can anyone tell the flow rate on this valve?
