: how to fasten nuts to steel and plastic ???

okay, i need to fasten some nuts to the backside of some steel to make some brackets. i already tried some heavy duty epoxy and it didnt hold. i might be able to try arc welding them on but the brackets were a pain to make and i dont want to risk burning through them (plus the nuts are really small and this might be difficult). i also thought of soldering them on but i dont have experience with this so i dont know if it would be strong enough.

i also have to attach the same nuts to some plastic brackets somehow. i am assuming the epoxy will not be strong enough, and plastic is not weldable, so what should i do?

anyone have suggestions for either of these? i really need to figure this out. thanks!
