The past few years we have setup camp at Union Valley Reservoir around the begining of March. Its been dectated that thats a no go this year. Iron Mt. Road is a possibility, but we will probably want to go a little more remote than that. Any recommendations for this year?
You may want to head up the I-80 Corridor, plenty of wheeling still available.
Eagle Lakes, Pierce Creek, Lake Valley Res (off TNF Rd. 19) in the Yuba Gap area are all still open.
This year anyway :(

Are you talking about Eagle Lakes near Cisco Grove, or near Susanville off 395? I will definetly put these in consideration as we are all coming from Roseville.
Cisco Grove. Snow is pretty deep!!

10N83 North South Road
10N43 Light Canyon Road
11N46 Alder Creek Road

I am not that familiar with that area. Does it stay fairly crowded, or is there some remote camping?

Down lower on MIT you get a TON of people, mostly taking kids up to sled etc.. up higher, it's just the people that can make it. higher up you go, the less people....
You also have to remember that with the new wet weather closures in ELDO, you cannot go down ANY dirt route that is covered in snow January thru March, the roads listed are the only ones you can drive on with a wheeled motor vehicle. :shaking:
Makes it kind of tough to do any "remote" snow camping up there.

go up Iron Mountain about 2.5 miles and turn right on Bonetti road. head back there a few miles and you wont have much trafffic at all in that area. I was about 4-5 miles back there last weekend and saw nobody. you wont hit any real snow until 4 miles.
