hi guys,
just let me explain my issue:
i've Volvo portal axles on my Jeep, the rear axle has the diff on the passenger side, i've used 'till now a double cv driveshaft to "handle" this problem but i want to put a common driveshaft on for many reasons.
so, i need a t-case with passenger side rear output like the quadratrac Borg Warner 1339 or the older Dana Spicer 18 in his newer version found on '66-'71 CJs.
Dana 18 would be the easier swap because match my th 350 trans just with an adapter but i'm not sure about his strength, i've a chevy 350 with over 300 hp and 37" boggers.
portal's gear hubs reductions probably help to reduce the effort so t-case may be less subjct to crack, but i don't know too much about that t-case, i saw it isn't the strongest in the market and mostly say to do not put it behind v8 but i want to hear that from you before to leave the project.
another options may be the th 400/1339 Borg Warner t-case combo, unfortunately i cannot put just the t-case for the unique spline it has and i prefer to keep my th 350 that 've just rebuilt and the th 400 used in Jeep may require and adapter , bcause just older version has the gm bellhousing pattern.
and what about landcruiser's t-case?
i really don't know too much about them, i saw just some Toyota rear axle with the passenger side differential, and i saw that adapters to match the th350 tranny are just for the pick up t-case version with of course centered rear differential housing.
virtually any t-case with rear pass side output that can be coupled i some way with the th 350 are good candidate to solve my trouble, these are those i know:
1350 BW
1339 BW
DANA 18
landcruiser's t-case don't know years and model
that's it.
any help will be apprecciated!!!
