Ok so i got ahold of a 87 zuki with spoa and a 4inch bodylift on 35s v6 powered. My plans are to get a 4 link on the rear and extend the wheelbase and in the future 4 link the front and extend it out also. My overall wheelbase is going to be around 96 or 100 havent got all my measuments yet. I have set up a four link on a air suspension before it was a triangulated 4 link, but never any experiance with links on a 4x4. So im just looking for some opinions on the material ill be using and if anyone has a setup simular to this any pictures and possibly measurements would be really helpfull.
Ill be using 2"x.250 wall dom for the upper and lower links and 1.25" creeper joints, for the springs i king coils in mind prolly 175lb or 200 due to having the v6. I have also seen a tread on hear with this simular setup and used nitrogen shocks, if u run nitrogen what all else would i have to run with it? Im not sure what the name is for the setup is that i am doing. the lower links will starts on the outside of the axle housing and go inward and the upper links start in the center of the housing and go outward to the frame rails.
Not sure how to explain it really good this is the link that to the website for all of my information http://www.therangerstation.com/Magazine/winter2007/4_link_tech.htm
any suggestions and information will be very helpful.

losing the body lift would be the best mod.

The challenge with a lifted vehicle is to get the links mounted so they don't hang up and the angles are still good. Best advice I could start with is don't build the links around things move stuff that is in there way like gas tanks, frame rails, etc. Lots of pics and threads around here. Anything in particular your looking for?
Its called a dual triangulated four link btw. This was a pretty big discussion fairly recently take a look here.

moveaside thank you very much for the link just got done reading all of it and is very helpfull. I like what was said about and the simplicity of fordoris setup so i think ill go with that and see how it works out. Only other questions i have now is what size tubing to use and where to get the joints. Will 2"x .250 wall still work for this? I looked at polyperformance and they have the uniballs but i would like to find one with threads on it so i will have adjustment in the links. Any suggestions there?

trailgear has creeper joints and the weld in threaded inserts for your tubing, they have the tubing also.

Stoneyxj so your lower links were 41". What is the length of your upper and your panhard? Also what is your overall wheelbase?
really like the setup am am going to use that for my front i like the back as well and am still leaning towards the double wishbone. If its not to much trouble what were the lengths of your rear upper and lower bars as well?
raging squirrel im looking for a uniball that has threads on it i saw a uniball on polyperformance but it is weld on and would have no adjustgment.
Thank you everyone for all the help so far.

Sounds like your looking for a giant hiem with high misalignment instead of a uniball:confused: What static load are you looking for?
Since you keep mentioning double wishbone you are meaning something resembling a capital A with two hiems on one end and one on the other right? Now double wishbone has this setup for the uppers and the lowers. A lot of folks end up just running the upper and standard links for the lowers just fyi.
Something a little like this right?

Look on this link at fordoris setup http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=646835&highlight=link&page=2 that is what i was refering to as a "double wishbone". Would it be better to run just the uppers as a wishbone and straight lowers? On polyperformance website under there link ends they have what they call a uniball would johnnys or creepers work just as good?
Also stoneyxj thank you very much. That info will be very helpfull.

Keep in mind that same setup was posting here recently about wheel hop problems. Is that a link problem? We don't know yet. One things for sure adjustibility should have been designed in his setup and I'll bet he's kicking himself for that now. Keep in mind with most link setups its trial and error and you trying to find what you like best. Some of them have been done so many times they are very reliably described on the internet. Double wishbone is outside the box. I would focus not just on material used but design. Gusseting, where and how comes into play almost as much as materials used.
Me personally I look at most items I build as how easy are they to service and will this make servicing another component a pain in the ass.

Alright well im stuck now i guess ill stick to the original and go with the double triangulated and see how it turns out i work 28 days at a time on a river boat so will be a little bit before i start the build but i will open a post when i get it going. Thanks for all the help and opinions.
Also stoneyxj if you can get those lengths since i am going with the double trinagulated will be very helpful. Thanks
