: Hill Climb Competition idea

Since seeing Wes at Dayton during the PUSU event, we have been tossing around the idea of an organised hill climb competition, something on the lines
of multiple climb courses, scored kind of like the shootout course during PUSU.
Then a finals that would be a straight climb, giving evereyone that made the finals a chance at the same distance of run in. Then if their were multiple completed climbs, make the run in shorter, and repeat until we got a winner.
Just a one day event at Kizzar's

Would any want to compete in this, we'd keep the entry low and look for donations from sponsors and the crowd for the winner. Maybe a winner take all, or pay down to like 3rd. WSe are looking at the Saturday after our W.E.ROCK eastern finals in Dayton, so the date would be August 8th.

What say all you hill climbers......

Sounds like a cool idea Rich. A side competition with another competition will only draw in more people. I'm surprised it's not done more often.

Interesting, we should talk. from the video, I'd say our hill is not nearly long enough, be it is steep enough, or can be made steep enough.

There was a king of the hill competition around Hartselle, AL a few years ago.. LOTS of buggies and truggies there and no rail buggies.

Not sure if it is an annual event or not... also have heard of several similar ones around AL and TN but that is the only one that I have personally been to. Pretty cool event and have a DVD of it somewhere..

I don't think payout or turnout would be an issue. Just ride up to Aetna one Saturday with a bunch of flyers, park in the peanut butter hole with a megaphone and say "I heard dem west coast boys can out climb y'all fuckers", throw the flyers up in the wind and peel out. Prepare for record turnout.

Yeah I figured that might be an effective way to advertize, besides bringing Dustin

KOTH is put on every year by the Rocket City Rock Crawlers, I dont tink rail buggies would do to good on there coarse. If they did it , it would be fun to watch. There was a king of the hill competition around Hartselle, AL a few years ago.. LOTS of buggies and truggies there and no rail buggies.
