i'm sure many will post their favorite ways of getting there--- but--

if you are comming from the north, down Calif--- 99/5/101 first target is Bakersfield-

if you are going to do 395 south- hang on-----------

Bakersfield= look/turn EAST on 58--- thru Boron to the stoplite junction of 395----

now the 395 bunch- south to Inyokern to Ridgecrest and stay on 395, don't take the split to 14-----
south on 395 to the stoplite at the junction of 395/58--

now we are ALL on the same page=++

you want SOUTH on the 395 to Adelanto---- (from here on out it is easy-)(3 turns in the next hour)

when you get to Adelanto, you will pass the police station on your left-big white building-- the next lite, there will be a Circle K on the left=/-Air Expressway ,TURN left--stay on this road past the Federal Prision, til it ends and turn RIGHT-- into Victorville---- STAY ON THIS ROAD -- NO MORE TURNS TIL YOU ARE DAYMN NEAR THERE !)-(247)-- thru Victorville---- thru Apple Valley--(247)--- thru Lucerne Valley-(247)--- from the stop sign after Lucerne Valley, you will have @26 miles to Boone Road--- (just before you get there, there will be a WHITE ARROW sign in the air on your right @ 2'x8' pointing south) slow down !!@1/3 mile-- BLM sign on the south side of the road --BOONE ROAD/DIRT/TURN NORTH--- follow the dirt road---------------------------------
BUT !! SLOW DOWN FOR THE TWO cemented wash crossings !!--- and follow the dust clouds-----------------------

10 miles past Lucerne valley you will see a brown BLM sign that says something like "Johnson Valley off highway vehicle recreational area, BESSMER MINE ROAD"

DON"T TAKE THAT ONE!

10 miles later you will see another brown BLM sign (like Krusty stated above) that looks just like the first one but is says BOONE ROAD.
THIS IS THE CORRECT TURN OFF.

I don't know how to get there. I may need help :D :roxy:

dtoy is right !--- if you plainly see a BLM sign on the NORTH side of the road--- NOT the right one !!!!!!!!!!!!!

the BLM sign you are looking for is on the SOUTH side of the road, hideing in some sage brush and you won't see it til you pass it !!! @25- 26 miles from the stop sign in Lucerne Valley--


so -- from Bakersfield== 4 turns- (58 east to 395south/turn RIGHT--- to Adelanto Air Expressway/ turn LEFT----- end of the road / turn RIGHT---- Boone Road / turn LEFT !!!!--

from Ridgecrest- 3 turns== (to include Reno/Tahoe area) hiway #395 south to Adelanto Air Expressway-- turn LEFT---- end of the road/ turn RIGHT---- Boone Road / turn LEFT ---

the turn onto boone road is at the end of a long strait streach,after boone road there is a big right hand sweeper with an up hill, there is room to turn around at the top of the hill
