Hay guys,

I think I got a deal on some shafts at the yard last weekend, $30 for what you see. The middle shaft says 82 bronco on it but I didnt pull it so Im not sure on details. The bronco shaft has a 3in throw slip spline and was wondering if its a 1310 slipspline? It looks slightly larger then my cherokee's 1310.

The long shaft has a carden end Ill use on the bronco shaft at my NP231 output with JB sye on it. Ill cut the diff end of the bronco shaft and weld on that 1ton 1350 end from that short shaft in the pic.

This is my cheep fix for mounting my Dana 70 to my 88 Jeep cherokee, The slip spline is the week link so Id at least like to conferm its a 1310, then have you guys comment on how crappy a 1310 is and give me a good slution.

thanks Guys.

IIRC, my bronco with the 8.8 rear was 1330 not 1310, but its been a while and my memory is fading :)

measure the spread. 1330s are about 3 5/8" and 1310s are 3 7/32"

was that a 1310 U-joint? How can you tell? I dont see any logical marking on the U-joints, Im assuming my carden matches the joints on the bronco shaft and they line right up with the width of that output yoke in the pic off the JB sye that I know is a 1310.

thanks

the words are still the same, but now its in bold. Does that help?

if you don't want to measure it, test fit it with a spicer 153x (a 1310 UJ) and if it fits, it is probably a 1310. If it doesn't fit it is probably not a 1310 and likely a 1330.

YMMV

I measured 3 3/16 so 3 6/32 within 1/32 of your 1310 measurement so its a 1310 slip-spline. Can I assume the U-joints are also 1310? That was my other question.

I measured the U-joint to be 3 3/8 wide with no end caps on it.
thanks,
