I am in the process of routing all new break lines. (toy axels rear disk breaks) So I am looking at trying to figure out what to do about a master cylinder..................... Then it comes to me and my friend (who is helping) hay hand me that stock wrangler master cylnder............. holy shit it bolts up!!!!! Had to make a little mod to the plunger and goop her up with RTV to seal it but I think it is going to work!!!!!
Anyone else find is or try it????

You will need to change out the proportioning valve for one that is for 4wheel discs, or swap in a 4 wheel disc M/C. Another option is to get an adjustable prop valve like a Wilwood one from Summit or Jegs.

Why?

What do you gain with the heap MC?

I run 4 wheel disc with origional MC and Prob valve and have great brakes. Great feel, and can lock up all four even without the vacume assist. Much better than any heap I've ever been in.....

But what calipers are you running?? The stock M/C doesnŽt have enough fluid capacity for very much larger calipers. In many cases, the pedal will go to the floor before youŽve pushed einough oil into the calipers to stop...

IŽm running calipers from a VW van on all 04 corners and a M/C from a Ranger, together with the stock prop valve.

1st isn't Heep? he he he he he

2nd I am running toyota axels and put rear disk breaks on the rear. I used a chevy monticarlo caliper and light chevy 4x4 roters and in the front I am using the stock toy disks so I needed more fluid. Not sure if you are running the stock axles or a different break set up?

On my first D44/D30 setup I used 3" piston calipers from an E150 van (recommend by a friend that's known for overkill)! On the rear I used my old front Sami calipers and rotors. That setup had a little more peddle movement than I really like, but no where near going to the floor. When I converted my outers to full D44, I switched to 1/2 ton chevy calipers. These work perfect. Great feel and lots of breaking power....

Jayson used 1/2 ton chevy disc front and rear on his last conversion. That was too much for the stock 7/8 MC. He swapped in a Corvette MC. I think he paid less than $20 for a reman unit....

I guess using the small Sami rear calipers is why I never had a problem..? I'm sure that's the reason the balance is so good.

I love this place...

can you imagine selling your rig...
and handing the list of butchered parts to the buyer.

"here's the 8 vehicles the brake system is built from!"
"the 4 different vehicles the carb and intake are made from"

etc. etc.

"Oh yea...and you'll have to come back to me to fix it, cause I'm the only god'damn person who knows how it all goes together!"

This would be a damn good topic for a thread, maybe even a sticky...

From what other vehicle did you acquire all of your shite?? This would/could be a good reference for others doing similar mods. Now the list should limit itself to parts from OTHER VEHICLES, not custom stuff or aftermarket parts. Just shite that you have ADAPTED from some other car or truck...

IŽll start the thread...

I'm with Ok on this one...Ive got 3/4 ton chevy d44 calipers in the front, toy v6 drums on the back and I'm running the stock mc and it works awesome. Firm pedal and seriously powerful for this light little POS.

I was going to keep the Drum rear's but at 80.00 for 1 new drum I payed for the disk breaks. I am also still using the front toyota disks. I am getting close to having it done I will let all ya know how they work..............
