My TJ came with a 2"BB with tranny drop. I have a TeraFlex Short arm that I am putting under it and a TeraFlex belly up. At this point in time I do not have the SYE. Can I do the lift with the tranny drop for the 2"BB? And then when funds permit do the belly and SYE?

Should be OK. Put the lift on and see if you get vibes when you drive it. If you do get a motor mount lift, or drop the t-case more.

He said he needs to save money for an SYE/DS. Most 4" lift kits come with a tranny drop for just that reason.
4" lift with 33's and a tranny drop is much better than a stocker. Probably 10,000 rigs out there with this combo.
Cut the guy some slack damn! :shaking:

I just want to get the lift in and the short arm all set up. That way when I have the SYE/DL I just have to do the belly up and the SYE/DL and I'm done. But if I am going to have to deal with vibrations then I'll hold off. Thanks for the input Kenny

If you are going to remove the BB when you install the 4"SA you should be ok.

you will more than likely need a body lift with the teraflex skid plate. but that gives you room to add a 1-2" MML. which will help with the vibrations.
when you drop the axles down 4" and raise the Tcase 2+", you are going to need as much help as you can get.

You could just wait and save money and do it all right the first time.
And SYE is around $200 and less than that for a driveshaft if you know how to do it.

The np231 has the clearance for the belly up.

And SYE is around $200 and less than that for a driveshaft if you know how to do it. I have yet to find a D.L. for less than 300 bones. The best deal for quality parts was Tom Woods SYE/DL combo for around $500.00. Just the driveline is running around 275.00+ + shipping. The best deal I found on the SYE was here on Pirate for an AA @ 189.00 + shipping

to answer your original question: yes, you can delete the BB, add your SA 4" lift, and keep the Tcase drop in there.
but when you plan on going belly up, your axles are going to think you have a 6+" lift. you better have adjustable rear arms at that time.
save yourself the trouble, time, and money and do this all at once. run the 4" kit until you can afford the SYE, belly up skid, and new rear shaft. then, install the SYE and skid. then drive to a drive shaft shop in front wheel drive. i wouldnt recommend driving like that for too long. finally adjust your rear control arms so the pumpkin is aimed at or 2 degrees below the output shaft on the Tcase.

I have the Teraflex adjustable control arms, drop pitman, adj track bar and rear shock relocators that will be installed with the lift.
