Got a set of Hummer wheels in for a customer; he wants 'em recentered for standard backspacing.

So I sent off the project to my local CNC cutter house (they do laser, plasma, punch, flame, shear, etc.) to get it quoted.

I had 'em quote me flat 3/8" plate centers, no style, just a bolt pattern, a center hole, and eight-lug wheel pattern.

Is $50 apiece, plus shipping, a fair price for those? That'd include me bringing 'em in and chamfering the lug holes to have a proper lugnut seat. They'd be a DIY thing at that point, to put into your Hummer wheels.

I'm asking because I can either get five centers, or 24 centers (they'll one-off the five for me, but they'd much rather do a full sheet of steel) at once, so I'm trying to figure out if it's worth getting a sheet at a time.

scott, the going rate is 50 retail for them (well as retail as custom hummer centers get). If he's charging you 50 that's too much, you wont' be able to make any money off them. if you're selling them for 50 you're right in line with Daniel, 4wdfactory.com, and another guy on this board named Dean. I'd probably take 4 off your hands either now for the bronco or in the future for my mog buggy :rolleyes: :D

I had mine made out of 1/2" plate for my rockwell wheels and I only paid $22 a piece.

$50 apiece would be my "sell" price... I'd be paying slightly less. That's center-only, no wheel, no weld, just plate and chamfer job on the lugnut holes. I'd be paying for the plates with all the holes punched/plasma'd, then doing the countersinking myself.

350Samurai, do you work at a machine shop, and/or can you get more at that price? Are you willing to sell them? I'm paying a bit more than that for these, if I do get them.

I'd be able to get just about any bolt pattern at the same cost, but "styling" the wheel would cost more. Almost double. Ouch. :(

Tim where did you get them cut. I am gonna need some for the dubs before to long. Did you and kenith and Kevin all have them done together. Let me know.

I don't work at a machine shop, a buddy of mine gets them at a local shop here. I can call him and find out about selling them. Give me a day or two.

These are just drilled, not countersunk.
