i have a 90 wrangler and i just put a the detroit ez-locker in the front which is a dana 30. my question is when i'm driving down the road my front driveline continously spins and i'm not in 4wd, and i don't think that is normal but i'm not sure if that is what it is suppose to do. also when i put it into 4 low on the street and try to turn it binds up and does not like to turn very easy. now is that because i'm on the street and off road it will change or what. need info plz.

Yes, your front driveshaft will spin when not engaged in 4 wheel. This is because your Jeep does not have lockout hubs...though yor t/case is free spooling the front shaft.

The hard steering is because of your front locker. Get off the pavement and it won't be as hard to steer. Your part-time t/case has some offerings in this as well, as it is not meant to be run on pavement.

wow, where to start?

did you do much research before installing it? yes, it will be difficult to steer off road too. expect your turning radius to decreased also. you also have a much better chance of snapping the smaller u-joints offered in the 30 in '90. all the costs of increased traction. you might want to look into a 2-lo shift fork for your t-case to use when manuvering b/t obstacles.

as far as the drive shaft spinning, in a stock 30 the drive shaft will not spin in 2wd b/c of the vac-disco. but once you put in a full time locker it will, no probs though.

as far as for beefing up your 30, you need to get shafts which use 297x size u-joints. if your lucky you'll run across a 95 1/2 YJ that came stock w/ the better shafts so you dont have to by-pass your vac-disco (here we go:rolleyes:) if not those, then TJ shafts and you need a new seal on the passenger side to prevent leakage?

whenever you get the new shafts, grind out the ears to allow for full circle clips (again:shaking:), which will help keep the caps in and prevent breakage. and if you do all this right you'll have a set of spares at your disposal...

elementry enough?:flipoff2:
