: Followup to the FFL that was bad mouthing me

this is very embarrassing but I just 'found' your order for 5 spikes
stripped lowers.
Another individual with the same first name ordered 5 Spikes on 10-29. He
had called a couple times checking on the status on the lowers and right
before XMas decided he did not want to wait any more and cancelled.

I totally overlooked that I had 2 separate Spikes orders and I appologise
for not keeping you in the loop.

When you placed your order on 10-31 I placed an order with Spikes for 15
lowers. They told me they would ship the following week. So on Saturday I
charged your card. Since then Spikes has repeatedly slipped their shipping
estimate. As of right now its going to be Feb before I see them.

I was going through some Double Star back orders yesterday and found your
order. I have credited you card the 600$ I charged back in November.

Again my appologies for getting confused about the two different orders. I
will contact you when the Spikes do finally arrive to see if you are still
interested in them.

I heard from Spikes yesterday and the receivers are at the anodizes. They are expecting to ship by the end of the month or first week in Feb.

I also wanted to clarify, I never told you that I had these in stock, the web site showed them as out of stock when you ordered.
I also did not raise the price of the item after you placed your order. I do not appreciate you going around telling people this happened.
I also am unable to find a single email from you requesting to substitute Stags.

I will be shipping these out as soon as I get them in.

I have customers that have been waiting FAR longer than a measly 10 weeks for AR stuff...some stuff is 10 weeks LATE!...I,like you, am very honest with people, and that pays off in the long run. You made an honest mistake and were willing to correct it in a resonable manor. I see nothing wrong with how you handled it.

Looks like you handled it right to me. Not much else you can do for the guy. You made a mistake, owned up to it, and offered the product when it comes in. He denied it. Even if you sent him a free one, he would bad mouth you for trying to "buy" his silence about your business practices. (which I don't see a problem with)

When I order something I want the money taken when I order it. Yes, I might have to wait if it is on back order, but whatever, its a welcome surprise when it shows up. As long as the price doesn't go up between when I order and pay to when it ships, I don't see a problem.

You made an honest mistake, owed up, offered a resolve, refunded his CC but no matter what that customer isnt going to be happy. Do not dwell on it

I say you handled it in a professional manor. If he's still bent thats his problem, too bad he's trying to destroy your reputation in the meantime. I also agree with your decision to not deal with him again.

Fuck him, simple mistake, shit happens. Its not like this is on a "normal" item during "normal" times. To be honest I would have just kept the order if you told me that. Fuck, I already consider the money "spent" so its not an issue of that. EBR market is fucked right now and its not your fault that those that are on the last few cars of this drama train are getting a little irate.

My problem here would be with Spikes. I'm tired of Manufacturers not being realistic. They know how many they can make and ship in a day, also how many are on order.

Why can't they set realistic expectations on delivery of said product to you Pete?

I ask this because I'm dealing with the same thing with another manufacturer. Should I not hold them to a certain level of honesty/reliability just because of all this election BS?

I have a feeling this wont be the last customer you have like this pete, during these times. This customer is obviously panic buying and and there is no reason to cater to these type of customers. Chances are even if you had these parts in your possesion he would have only made this one purchase from you. Being a kitchen table dealer i think its very important to weed out the assholes that expect to have have instant safisifaction. On this site there is such an atmosphere of brotherhood that any one here that orders from you will be happy no matter what, as you have always gone out of your way for us. The best business practice is to under promise and over deliver, and that is exacly what you do pete. I can remember when i made my first order with pete and i was looking for a beater ak handgaurd. He way under charged me and ended up sending me 3 handgaurds. This is the kind of person you want to do business with as hes under promising and waaaaay over delivering. The fact that pete has the lowest prices during these times and is constantly updating his site with quantities is far more than everyone else is doing. Im done swinging from petes nuts now, but this just goes to show that the cawk suckers that cannot suck it up and wait for stuff like the rest of us gun nuts can go eat a bowl of dicks. Times are hard, and us die hard shooters that have had our shit for a while now and will continue to do business with pete no matter how long it takes because in the end we are getting a superior product and from a truly superior dealer.

This is a typical CA attitude. I deal with it daily. The best thing to remember is the 93% rule applies here.
