Looking for something cheap, fun, uses the same ammo as my carry gun. I'd like to pick up a hi-point 4095, but the damn things are so incredibly ugly that I can't bring myself to buy one.

For those that have never seen one:

ATI makes a stock for the 995's that tries hard to make it look like a Beretta CX4, which is much easier on the eyes:

Problem is that the ATI version only fits the 9mm Hi Point, and I don't want to add another caliber to the mix, I have plenty the way it is. Anybody here know what fitting one to a .40 entails? I've heard of "a friend of a friend" doing it, but no details on what needs to be changed, whether it effects the fit, etc.

I searched on here for awhile and didn't have any luck, maybe you will though. Hi Point seem to be coming out with a new stock for all the carbines soon, but I haven't seen it.

Still prefer the ATI CX4 knockoff, oh well.

Well it's a step in the right direction, but they still kept that ugly ass bump in the butt stock. :shaking:

Are these any kind of accurate at 50-100yds?

They're actually pretty decent at that range. Granted the 9mm isn't a long range caliber. I shoot mine at that range and it'll pick off bottles on the fence, enough to be fun.

Plus the magazine interchanges between the pistol and the carbine.

They have to. Because inside of that carbine is a bolt that is nothing more than a slide from one of their pistols. It needs room to cycle.

A friend of mine brought his out to shooting today and was hitting coke can sized rocks at 80 yards with iron sights without a single miss. While that might not sound all that great, you have to take into account that this kid is damn near a paraplegic in a wheelchair with very limited use of his arms, yet was firing offhand. I've always thought those guns were ugly as sin, but I gotta admit I was impressed
