jdjanda 08-20-2002, 05:32 PM For those of you that are running buggies with CA plates. How much if any of the original vehicle is left? Would front fenders, hood and grill work? Do you run it on the street and has Johnny law stopped you? I’m trying to decide if I should go the legal route, green sticker it, register it as special construction, or just run the plates on it. The only original parts would be hood, fenders, and grill, but narrowed. But you've got to meet smog for the engine you use (and yes you need full documentation) along with brake cert, head lamp cert, and windshield, and safety equipment. I have to talk to Steve about the engine to see what it's going to take, or a run a Scout 800 body. I thought the heavy emissions stuff started in 74 or so???
