Well, in the 5 years we have been producing these there have been alot of changes and updates to our line. I thought that we should try and get alot of pictures and all of our options laid out so everyone could see them in one place. And lastly we have reduced our pricing due to steel falling back in line where it was before, so we are passing along the savings to you. Just a better deal all the way around! No fancy gimics or fuzzy numbers to mess w/. Our best price right here for our best customers only on PBB not all over the net!
Shipping we can combine shipping to save you money! We ship via USPS flat rate box when possible.
So here are our specs................ all for $90.00 per cover
- Bolt ring 1/2" thick (we engineer strength where it is needed) we are the only one to manufacture a cover w/ this kind of beef. We do not start w/ thinner mtl weld it unfixtured. Let it warp to kingdom come and then machine it thinner. Only to claim it is thicker than what it ends up being. We build them the correct way the first time around.
- 1 pc machined fill plug, placed for added oil capacity
- 1/4" thick one piece cnc formed cover (why not thicker? read the warranty)
Only at Glo x-tra cost options......................
- Counterbored mount holes (yes all of them, for a clean quality look)
- Integrated drain (ever cross deep water? Drain it out replace fluid and go)
- 1/2" mid plating severe abuse, makes a nice hydro steer mounting point
- Upper Truss Tab (nice for hooking into your homemade truss)
- And everything in between

This is a good example of an option you seldom see that we do. It is a lower 1/2" plating, it allows for those close tie rod clearance issues to be resolved and still have a extremely thick area to take some severe abuse. Stan at Branik MotorSports uses his as a ramp on his XXRA buggy! Thanks Shawn

Some people keep beating a dead horse about the difference between counterbored and countersunk and strength. If you want my sincere opinion for the strongest fastener (and yes this answer will cost me money telling you), use a stud and a nut. Long set screws (are typically grade 8 even) locktited into the housing and using a nut and lock washer will be the strongest hold you can put on a cover. I know this because I wheel and have mounted everything from cylinders to front end tie down points to my covers. Machine screws (socket or countersunk) have a tendancey to stretch when extreme force has been applied or shocked into the fastener. Why do i know this? Because I have wheeled and have doen this very exact thing. Most guys who have been around mechanically for awhile also know countersunk machine screws have a habit of seizing up after they get wet a couple of times making it extremely hard to remove them. Just a couple of honest thoughts since we decide to cover this subject once again.

Thanks for the props Jeff. Yes, we have one guy who welds for us and the welding is flawless as you have stated. We offer a no BS no fine print warranty. You break it we replace it. We have set the bar high for diff covers on strength and quality. This is why we do not need to weld both inside and out. If you weld the one side correctly that is all you need the other is just more weight. Thanks Shawn

Outside only, and we know how to weld. If you weld them correctly as we do you do not need to weld them both inside and out. Plus the fact we have a no B.S. no fine print warranty. You break it we replace it. Ask around you won't find any takers on that warranty and we have been doing this close to 10 years now. Thank Shawn
Are your covers welded on the inside as well as the outside.
Thanks

Here is a good picture of how are bolt ring/cover is direct from us ( it is shaved already to accomodate a shave housing ) Let me know if this will work for you. I do not believe this customer shaved his diff and you can see where are ring is in relation to the actual standard housing. So I think w/ our cover and a flap disc you could easily accomodate what you have already done on your housing. Thanks Shawn
edit: we also make a very nice pinion / yoke guard for this axle as well. Lifetime warranty on both units! Link http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=359056
Thanks Shawn

How much for an 8.8 with: lower 1/2" plating & Drain plug shipped to 80017?
How far back does the cover extend from the axle housing (not figuring in the lower 1/2" plating)?
The Riddler cover I have right now hits my Tank skid on 80-100% compression, so I looking for a closer fitting cover.
Thanks, Randy

I will get you a measurement yet today, I would say if you want it to fit close to forget the 1/2" plating though. I have one on the shelf I will get a measurement. Thanks Shawn

New Option most are unaware of, lower 1/2" plating. This protects lower bolts and helps build a ramp out of our cover! This has been race proven tried and true!
