Yes, I have tried the obligatory; search, patooyee's site, Dana's expert site, etc ...

Does such a thing exist; a factory high pinion d60 rearend? I could swear I once saw that some F250/350's from '78-79 had them, but I have a hunch the person who said that was thinking frontend and not rearend.

I have found a few Bubbas that are selling d60 rears that they "think" are high pinion, but I'm not about to drive 5 hours only to find out that Bubba has the same thing I can find in a boneyard 10 miutes from my pad: the standard low pinion rearends. And no, the Bubbas ain't hip to digital cameras, let alone the i n t e r n e t.

If I could turn up some BOM numbers, that would be ideal.

Can anyone shed some light/darkness on this issue?

78-79 Ford F350 (all) and some F250 with the camper special (or SNO-plow) package had the HP D60 FRONT... only... the rears were regular LP Dana 60's or 70's
AFAIK all crew cab's of those years had the HP 60

FYI, I got a HP D-44 out of a 1978 F-250 Crewcab, I wish it had the D-60 up front. :(

And no, there were no rear HP D-60's.

Three's enough for me. I'll give up the hunt for the elusive soft underbellied Tibetan hp60 rear and concentrate on a cheap front housing to convert.

Thanks dudes.
