Bill Collins 08-21-2002, 06:35 PM hey rockbiter, what part of texas are you from?and when will yall be leaving for the mountains?
rockbiter 08-22-2002, 06:27 AM I live in Lubbock, TX up here in the panhandle... i have a guy going with me from Tyler and another from Lubbock... the guy from Tyler is meeting me here at my house Wed. night, September 11th, we are leaving early the morning of the 12th, wheeling Friday, Saturday, Sunday and heading back monday the 16th.... kinda a quick trip...but it should be a good one...what kind a rig you got... the guy from tyler runs a 97 tj with dana 44's, 33" bfg's and locked front and rear... I run a 69 cruiser with a 350, 700r4, atlas II, dana 60's and 39.5 boggers in the rear and 39.5 tsl's in the front... we are thinking the TJ should be able to do most of the stuff out there.. but since we have never been, its up in the air on what trails we are going to do.. i will be trying to get a group to run with us... i guess we will have to see how the resonse is...

ColoYJ 08-22-2002, 08:36 PM rocbiter:
You should try to make it to Montrose anyway. While the fire danger is high you can still run the trails. Your buddy might not be up to the task but you never know. Montrose is probably in the top 5 of hardest trails and it is way more fun than Moab. If you decide to try it, PM me. I will take a day off from bowhunting and run it with you.

rockbiter 08-22-2002, 10:12 PM coloyj, well, actually i am heading back up to Montrose october 5th thru the 9th with some of the guys on this board, Nolen Grogan and some others, and then we are heading down to Farmington to run some trails and watch the supercrawl... my buddies rig is only running 33's and he wasnt going to run Die Tryin' or any of the other hardcore one's, thats why we wanted to hit the superlift adv. so that we could run seperate trails but with groups...never been to Moab though, always wanted to go so nows my chance... but will be in montrose in october...come join us then...
