I'm doing a disc brake conversion on a 86 cucv 14 bolt, ordered the brackets from Ruff Stuff (good stuff by the way) I installed the brackets but there was not enough clearance for the inside pad. Ruff Stuff sent a 3/8" spacer, installed it now the outside pad won't fit. I plan on having the spacer milled down to 1/4" tomorrow. Has anybody had this problem and does the 1/4" measurement sound right before I go and have them milled. Thanks for the help.

Are the brackets ment for a SRW application and you have a DRW axle, or...? I'm wondering, as the brakes on my 14B are suspect so I might as well disk them now.

If they are the offset style, mock it up without pads, measure how far off from center the caliper is and adjust accordingly with the spacers. Be sure to clamp everything down tight. Caliper, rotors and bracket.

I checked with Ruff Stuff he sent the 3/8" spacer and did not work. Does anybody know if there are any odd ball 14 bolts out there? I just had the spacers milled down from 3/8" to 1/4" I will install them tonight and let you know how they turn out.

He could have sent you the wrong parts, as they all look very similar, my buddy was accidently sent the wrong ones for his D70. I have the ruff stuff brackets on my CUCV SRW 14 bolt, and they fit perfectly.

there was a thread not to long ago about a guy that turned out to have a drw housing with srw hubs and couldnt figure why it wouldnt line up because he bought it in peices.
