Agreed. 2002 and later will be a 8.1L Vortec, with LS1 style efi and coil packs on the cyls.

no it was a different one- the 96 had a 5 speed and The cost of the differnet harness and computer was more than just buying this one. ANyone know how to look up the numbers- I was told it was a 03- I can post the block numbers if someone knows how to look them up

I don't have a source for crossing block numbers to vehicle years.

The motor you have in the picture is 1999 or earlier. I have not personally seen any 2000's without the coil packs but there may be some from cab and chassis trucks.

If you need an auto harness I have a couple spares for a Vortec 454 along with full injection systems.

hope that helps- sorry for the confusion- Thanks for the offer on the harness but I already purchased a salvaged 04 duramax- I lucked out- 110k miles at 108 it had a service replacement block put in:D Im into it less than 4k after selling some stuff I dont need

also if you are looking to sell those harnesses there is a guy in town buying them- he sells them to some kit car place
