I have the 49" 14X20 Michelin XL's on my 406 Unimog. Air down to about 20 lbs. They go great, but mostly because of the 24" clearance under the axles and the Diesel just doesn't slow down with tons of torque. They are a great deal as far as price. There are, I'm sure better tires out there depending on the wieght of your truck. My Mog wieghs over 11,000 lbs. so most of your offroad tires aren't heavy enough for my Mog. But, yes they do better than any other truck I have been with, agian it probably is the whole package and not really the tires. Most of the Heaps I ride with wallow in my ruts and need me to pull them through, mostly because of clearance issues, not tires. If your running a great mud tire only 33" tall, you bet those big 49" tires are going to go better just because of clearance. But, most trucks don't have drive trains strong enough to handle those big heavy monsters for long. I ride with people that need to carry spare axles running 33's with Dana 60's because of to much power and tire. You really need a heavy drive train to push those tires. The 406 Mog is way overbuilt and if run with stock power and maintained will never break a drive train part with 14X20's. Not so true with lighter duty stuff found under most rigs.

yep... they suck.

they're crazy heavy and don't pull very good.

tractor tires are lighter and pull way better.

Yes those big tractor tires are tha baddest mud tire. Ones that can go at highway speed are generally very costly. The big XL's are more plentiful and generally can be had at a pretty good price.

i am having no luck at finding tractor tires execpt for new from dealers.i dont want to run xzl's but for the price they look better and better. i want around 52"tall and 20" wide tractors, then wheels are hard to find for rockwells.

they do surprisingly well in the rocks......but in the mud my experience has been that they are good as long as you keep moving. im running rockwells with these and have had good luck so far, my problem so far is if you stop, it takes some considerable effort to get them moving again where my 44 boggers just grab and go. if their is a bottom to be found most the time these tires will find it.

I've heard from people who run them that Military tires suck in the mud. If you can kep it moving your good to go, but imo boggers or tractor tires would be the best bet.
