I am looking at re-gearing my transfer case. I am having a hard time deciding on what one to go with. I think the bang for the buck is the Calmini 5.14:1, what do you guys think?

Ya need to give us more info on your rig. For example, what tire size are you running, gear ratio, etc. We'd be able to give you a better idea of what would work best for you.

I think the best bang for the buck is TG 6.5s. You can get them as low as $475.

Trail Gear has the best bang for the buck (and warranty)

I have the Calmini 5.14 in my TT with 31" tires and I don't think that it's low enough. For trail runs its great cause I can run 2nd and 3rd all the time. But once I hit the rocks it isn't low enough.

Right now it is stock, but I have toyota axles waiting to go under it. I will be running a 33x13.50 or so tire. I thought about the 6.5, but talked to a guy in town and he was telling me the way the gears are they are kinda weak (something about the way they are cut?). I don't know, never done transfer case gears, so this is all new to me. Thanks for you input.

Are you going to drive on the street? I have 35s, toy 4.10s, and the TG 6.5s and wish I didnt have so much high range reduction for the road. On the trail it is nice to have but driving 100km on the freeway at 3800rpm kinda sucks

get the TG 6.5:1 from low range. and you won't be disappointed. and make sure you beef up your mounts and get a cradle

Yes I will be driving it on the road but I don't go far. Yeah I was just looking at low range, so far they are the cheapest. What mounts do you prefer?

I run TG 6.5's, 35's with 4.88's. Daily driver over 1000 miles a month pretty easy. I like it, isn't low enough sometimes when I'm crawling though.

I agree here. Thats why I was wondering the same about what he is going to run. I have 4.88 toy axles 4.89 t-case on 33's, and the street driving stinks. About 3800 at 60mph, so I'm about the same as you over all.
