Where would you get a 1.8L, from a Storm??

Yes, the 1.8 motor out of a Sport or Esteem bolts directly to a 1.6 liter bell housing. Use the 1.8 flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate. I happen to have one of these set ups in my SJ410 hardtop project vehicle that is about half way complete.

Does the bell housing match the Sj trans, or did ya use the adapter plate, and a Sami trans?

I used the 2wd sidekick transmission, short jack shaft, then samurai t-case in the normal position. I've run the tranny and t-case combo before in my red samurai 'wedgee' and it worked well. The reason I do not run the 2wd transmission in the red samurai anymore is that I couldn't keep the oil in it when I was going up hills. It would run out the shift tower and the tranny(s) would fail.

The SJ410 I'm building is more of a tire squealing pavement pounder that wount see real vertical stuff.
