Another question.....if you were to build a tube buggy...what would you use for a hood? Just some sheet metal?, Lexan? A hood off your favorite vehicle?

I would use the hood of the vehicle you might be building it to resemble.

Aluminum. Just be sure to insert a little rubber betwen the steel and the aluminum. If you do it right, you should be able to keep out all of the dirt and head splitting rocks.:(

I plan on using either 1/8" or 3/16" aluminum just for the floor boards under me and the pass. It's enough to keep that rogue u-joint from going into my skull. I'll be using carbon fiber for the firewall if my buddy comes through for me.

Lexan is working good as a hood for my rig.

As for the floor I may switch over to expanded steel, less glare and easier to keep clean.

There are plenty of comp.'s to go to throught the year that you could go to and take a sh!t load of photos of what you like about many different rigs and then combine what you like to make what you like. If you want a chassis then Campbel Ent. has them and so does Avalanche if you want to buy something to start with. I liek Campbels rigs they are a nice piece of work and simple.

A lot of the top competitors who build their own buggies have chassis for sale. Just find which one you like, and contact them.

I want more info on the buggy shown at the top.

Expanded steel would be cool! The only problem is im going to build this thing and be able to take it camping.....Not just a comp rig! I think that would let in too much dust and water from the con all over my and my passanger.
