here is my problem. i had my buddy install a 4.0L and trans to my stock Tcase in place of my 2.5L in my TJ. the motor was from a 97, trans from 99, and my Tcase is a 98. i want to find out how many splines are on the end of the tranny so i can install a flipped 300. thanks for your help.

so, how many splines does my tranny have?

Manual - AX15 (out of a 4.0) is a 23 spline unit.
Manual - AX5 (out of a 2.5) is a 21 spline unit.
Auto - 30RH/32RH is 23 splines.

Not sure what transmission you have. Assume you have an auto, or you would have been able to swap a 4.0 and trans to your transfer.

it has the auotmatic. it acts like it has four gears. or could that be the torque converter? it has been a year since the swap and is my DD. is it labeled anywhere i can check to be sure?
what about this "zip tie mod" i keep hearing about?
