: Will they fit if I lower it????
crroyalflush 01-23-2009, 07:45 PM I got a pretty killer deal at the tire shop and bought some 20's for my 2004 ex. cab silverado. I didnt pay much attention to the offset etc when I got them but I want to know if its possible to make them tuck on my truck.
They are 20 x 8.5 x 5.5. If they will tuck what size tire do I need to make them tuck and will I need to roll the wheel wells? Thanks guys.
BigRed05 01-23-2009, 07:53 PM Are you fuckin serious?
crroyalflush 01-23-2009, 07:55 PM Are you fuckin serious?
actually I am. It looks pretty close right now with whats on there but I think they may tuck with lower profile tires....................anyone????
BigRed05 01-23-2009, 07:59 PM Your on the wrong site bud. Go play with the kids on fullsizechevy. You have 20's, they will like you better. Your street queen stupid ass question doesnt belong here
crroyalflush 01-23-2009, 08:06 PM Take your shitty attitude and shove it. People on this site are more responsive than other sites. Just so you know I also have a 72' Blazer that I am building right now which you can see here http://pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=721362&highlight=
If you cant or dont want to answer the question then shut your cock holster up.

BigRed05 01-23-2009, 08:16 PM Wow nice progress on nothing, posting your k5 up dosent excuse your stupid ass "20s and Tbar blah blah question"
crroyalflush 01-23-2009, 08:21 PM Wow Im sorry I cant please your sorry elitest attitude. If you dont like my question, dont reply, its pretty damn simple.
I travel alot for work like a grown up and dont have the time to wrench on my stuff everyday like you might. Im sorry if you have a crappy life and you have to bring your bad attitude to everyone else but I do believe the this part of the forum is Chevy tech, I dont think there was a requirement that it has 4 wheel drive to post here.
BigRed05 01-23-2009, 08:22 PM Ill let you dig your own grave
crroyalflush 01-23-2009, 08:23 PM for what asking a question about if something will fit and it not being a 4 wheel drive? get over yourself

Sorry, I guess I was a little thrown off by this:

I didnt see the part where it said it had to be 4x4 to post in the "Tech Talk for everything GM" portion of the board.
chevyfiedRAT 01-23-2009, 09:51 PM he fails to read the stickys and probably still can't figure out the search button.

Ill admit, I didnt read the stickies but I do know how to use the search function.
I understand if you dont like 20", or as you say, "are gay as gay can be" but that was not the question.
I asked a simple question as to whether they would tuck on my 04 silverado, thats all. I have enjoyed coming to this site because everyone seemed to be helpful with answering questions and giving positive feedback but that doesnt appear to be the case today.
Im not an idiot that would put 20's on a trail rig, this is my DD that I drive about 4k miles a month on and I got a good deal so I got them. Im talking $75/wheel from some KMC D-Backs.
Simple question, will they tuck?
trkklr77 01-23-2009, 09:58 PM if i wanted to know if my wheels would tuck.....
I WOULD HAVE FUCKING CHECKED THEM BEFORE I LAID DOWN ANY CASH RETARD

I picked these up w/ new tires for about $100/more than it was going to cost to replace the stock tires on my truck so it wasnt that big of a deal. If they wont tuck then Ill prolly sell them and buy different rims. I just want to know if anyone has done it.....
indytrucks 01-23-2009, 10:07 PM Here I'll end it. Depending on the backspacing, yes they will. Now go away. :flipoff2:
Corey Young 01-23-2009, 10:13 PM http://www.truckinweb.com/index.html has a forum that would be more helpful.
crroyalflush 01-23-2009, 10:16 PM http://www.truckinweb.com/index.html has a forum that would be more helpful.
I posted there too but I dont think anyone ever goes on that site........Ill figure it out but some people here need to check their attitudes. A simple, "we dont know this section of the forum is only for 4x4, try here", would have sufficed.
Corey Young 01-23-2009, 10:24 PM Pirate is pretty much a hardcore 4x4 site.
indytrucks 01-23-2009, 10:25 PM Ok how is this for checking some attutiudes? Even if you were on the right site (which you aren't) in the right section (which you deffinatly aren't) you still haven't told us what the hell you mean by tuckin. Do you have an air suspension, body drop, or any other lowering device on your truck? Probably not because if you had the ability to do any of that you would have the ability to understand what offset you need to "tuck them" on your setup. 20's won't "tuck"on a stock 04 silverado.
Thank you have a nice day.

I know for the most part it is but I have seen stuff where members have posted about other rides and I figured I could get a quick answer. Like I said, typically the guys on this site answer questions and are on here regularly. Sorry if I pissed some of you off with this...

Ok smart guy........right now I have 2in drop shackles in the rear but plan on dropping the rear another 3 inches and dropping the front 3 inches. I know about offset but I dont know what offset is required on a 04 Silverado to sit inside the fenders when its lowered, hence the question. Dont mistake my question for lack of ability. If you will look at the first post you will see that they are a 5.5" offset and are 20" x 8.5".
GMCTruxrule 01-23-2009, 11:42 PM If you had included something about wrapping some 54 inch Boggers around those 20s, you might have gotten a different response.
trkklr77 01-23-2009, 11:49 PM why do i/we need to check our additudes? you are the newb shooting your gums skirts off. you are the one asking for help in a place that is in every way the wrong place to be asking and you ask in every way the wrong way to ask.
allow me demonstaight.
i am looking at buying a 56 chevy 2ton, i want to swap out the axles for better brake and maybe swap to semi truck air ride too. what back spacing will i need to tuck xlm's.
reading the above, what, if anything, makes you think this is the right place to ask something like that?
while it is true and i have asked questions about it already you wont find them in the 4x4 tech forums, you wont find them in the wanted section........ do you get the picture?
khag4 01-23-2009, 11:50 PM This site is SO FUCKIN funny... People trying to be hardasses over the net. I think everybody that wants to get an attitude when someone is lookin for info is a freakin retard. So this guy wants to put 20's on his street ride, who gives a fuck? He just wants a simple answer if someone has had experiance with this shit. You need to ask your self how many questions you asked when you needed info on something you didn't know about.
Thread OVER unless u have valid info for this guy>>>
and f you if you want to flame on me too cause I don't have a star.. Guess what times are tuff and I can use that money for something I need more....
Kali-K10 01-24-2009, 12:00 AM tape measure....$10

:flipoff2:
trkklr77 01-24-2009, 12:04 AM why would any one rip you for not having a star?
oh wait did you already post a "how do i post pics thread"?
btw, what was your valid tech for the poster? do you have a wheel gauge or a tuck chart to post? can you offer any form of help other than ego stroke?

1. remove head from ass, wash the shit from your eyes.
2. read the stickies posted at the top.
3. people don't want to read through your damn garbage to find what they are looking for, so delete it already.
4. reinsert head in ass and have a good day.

No I know how to post pics. And I even know how to do a search!!!!

It was mostly just a general statement about how big of asshole some of these people can be, for no reason other than to make themselves feel better.
76POS 01-24-2009, 12:11 AM It was mostly just a general statement about how big of asshole some of these people can be, for no reason other than to make themselves feel better.
The reason for a lot of people being "assholes" is that no one wants to have to search through this kind of garbage when looking for information. I search more than ask questions because the answers are already on here somewhere thanks to those people that you call "assholes".
khag4 01-24-2009, 12:18 AM Its kind of dishearting when the first post is "are you fucking serious"
but you are right about one thing there is alot of good info on this site, and I thank the ones that put it up here.
sorry for the Thread Hijack, i'm done
trkklr77 01-24-2009, 12:34 AM common sence is free, but some people still dont have it.
Grumpy_old_fart 01-24-2009, 01:29 AM oh, my god... i lost a few iq points reading through this post...
did this guy honestly post a question about how to lower a truck and put 20s on it?
and did someone honestly come to his defense?
this is fuckin funnay....
beats the shit outta the superman comics i read when i was twelve.

This forum is not for street trucks, there are other sites for that. If people would read the rules they wouldn't get flamed for stupid posts.
You need to GTFO as well.
khag4 01-24-2009, 07:44 AM Ok So this is a 4x4 site... i get that.. o look it is in the web addy.. i know his question maybe stupid to some but hell he is just lookin for information... What is so fuckin hard about reading the post and then saying to yourself, I don't know anything about 20's and a lowered truck... and leave it at that? I just don't get why your so much better than this guy? It seems like it would be in a valid location being in a brand specific forum. I guess all these Chevy guys only have there 4x4, nothin else.. Someone might have a lowered street truck.. wtf is wrong with that?
newmarketEOD 01-24-2009, 08:39 AM So I am looking to put a huge can muffler on my Cavilier. How big can i fit before it will drag over speedbumps? I looked around forever and didn't get an answer and i know this is a 4x4 forum but it says anything Chevy and my Cavilier is a Chevy.
Thanks.
And tall of a spoiler should I get so it will line up with the hieght of the roof?
abig84 01-24-2009, 08:57 AM I picked these up w/ new tires for about $100/more than it was going to cost to replace the stock tires on my truck so it wasnt that big of a deal. If they wont tuck then Ill prolly sell them and buy different rims. I just want to know if anyone has done it.....
sooooo you have the rims and tires theres.... you have the truck there... why are you asking if they will fit? put them on and check it

none of us here are better than anyone else as human beings, as for tech there are a lot here better than others.
this is where it get real inronic, this is TWICE in one thread that you have said help or stfu, and you have yet to offer anything other than whining about how other talk to eachother.
if you have nothing to add about the topic THEN STFU ALREADY!!!!
indytrucks 01-24-2009, 10:01 AM sooooo you have the rims and tires theres.... you have the truck there... why are you asking if they will fit? put them on and check it
Makes sense to me. All most too much sense. :flipoff2:
k9cqk 01-24-2009, 10:30 AM If you own the wheels with new tires on them, as I gather you do, then why don't you put them on the truck and look. All this could have been avoided.
Grumpy_old_fart 01-24-2009, 10:43 AM yeah, no kidding.... but everyone LOVES a great trainwreck.... sometimes even the driver of the train.
just4cuz 01-24-2009, 11:19 AM The driver/engineer of the train is usually the first to die (as in the original poster goes away) the rest of the cars momentum carries on (as in everyone talking shit to each other), pretty soon it all stops (as in the thread dies a natural death).
Some live on to be used as acronyms for other bad posts (Wentzel).
Generally speaking unless it was an engine or transmission question, I would not ask a question about any of my 2wd vehicles here (experience tells you this, unless you like getting flamed)
Have a good day and may the common sense fairy visit you soon!
HAPPYJOHN 01-24-2009, 12:03 PM Ok smart guy........right now I have 2in drop shackles in the rear but plan on dropping the rear another 3 inches and dropping the front 3 inches. And if you weren't such a complete KNOB, You'd realize that
OFFSET is measured in mm from center, pos. or neg. ,
and BACKSPACE is measured in inches.
:shaking:
P.S. I'd be glad to park on your truck,
that would probably lower it some.....
