I know of a J10 pickup. No one knows the year on it yet, i am wondering what axles came in this truck. when i last looked i could sware the rear is a dana 44 and the front looked to be as well. its sitting in a bad place so my view is obstructed by bushes and dirt, so before i go haulin this thing out, is it worth my time? so what gear ratio's did the 44 come with and what axles did it come with? its a late 60's early 70's body style. nothing really left to it but the body and the axles. thanks in advance for any help. and i did try to look this up but it seems everything leads me to a dead end. maybe i just dont know how to look on a computer :homer: . again, thanks.

that gives me info on the rear, thanks, but it only goes to 4:10, so is that all there is? and what about the front as well?

Front and rear are D44's both are low pinion axles and the front should have flat top knuckles. The J10's the lowest gear available was a 4.10 J20's had 4.56's as an option and why is this in the hardcore section.

..Even the members in nonhardcore can use Google, and most of them don't expect someone else to do their research for them. You probably could have even found your answer on the first page if you would have searched the forum(in nonhardcore, even.)
It sucks when people know the rules, as you pretend to, but still post shit in the wrong forum. Sorry if I'm rude about it, but why don't you go back to the Ford board..

All J10 trucks came with D44 fronts with gearing from 3.07 to 4.10. The rear axle was a D44 up til 80 when they changed it out to an AMC20 rear one piece. The AMC has a larger ring and pinion that the D44 does but the tubs have a tendency of spinning and should be welded to the pumpkin.

No, not all front J10 front ends have flat tops.
Most 74-75, and a few 76 will have flat top knuckles. Will need to be machined and drilled on both sides, since unlike Chevy, they didn't use the idler arm on the driver's side.

Some fsj cherokees up til 79 came with flat top knuckles as well as I had a 79 golden eagle that had them.
