BIGFECK 10-09-2001, 02:58 PM wow i didnt expect such a response so fast.tell ya what ill work a special pirate bb member price for the month of oct.im still a little fuzzy on my total cost as there are still a few details to work out.basically theyll be in between trail ready and mrts price somewheres.ill nail a final price tonight and post it.the 16.5s will cost a little more as they are more expensive to manufacture.the inner bead gets a steel band that acts as a safety bead.ill try to get some pics of that.

H8monday 10-09-2001, 03:37 PM Right Awn, Gabe!
They look like they can handle the abuse, and I love the 36 bolts(except when Im mounting the tires).
With the 8 lug axles getting ready to be swapped, it was time for new wheels anyway.
Ill get a hold of you as soon as I get back from the hammers.
We can see how well they hold up at CalRocs.
BIGFECK 10-09-2001, 04:21 PM o.k. heres the deal through the month of october all registered pirate bb members ill sell the 15x10s for 200.00 apiece plus tax and shipping also the 16.5x9.75s will be 225.00 apiece plus tax and shipping.the price will go up after the end of the month.fair?ill set the backspace wherever you want it.these rings are expensive to buy and machine.thats where the bulk of the price comes from.they are tough as hell tho.let me know whatcha think.

do we have to pay tax, typically you dont when shipping to out of state?

umm yeahh what he said....
CrazyCraig 10-09-2001, 05:40 PM How wide of a tire can you put on the 16.5?? 9.75 doesn't seem that wide of a rim. Just think of the grooves as "traction enhancers" on the rocks. If you groove tires now you can groove rocks!!!
Craig
NE-RokToy 10-09-2001, 05:43 PM would they be cheaper to make if you didnt machine those grooves into them? maybe just countersunk the bolt heads.... definalty look cool and beefy but I'm poor
UGET IT 10-09-2001, 05:52 PM 15x10 18 bolt MRT's are $148 a piece before shipping and the 36 bolts are $198 a piece before shipping. So you are right in line with MRT for thier 36 bolt.
BIGFECK 10-09-2001, 06:49 PM maybe im looking at the wrong mrt website but it says their 18 bolts are 170 and the 36 bolts are 217 before shipping.before i started building mine i tried to get a quantity break and they wouldnt even do that.mine are not available without the machined grooves, thats there to protect the bolts they are sunk in the groove.i knew not everyone would be a fan.but i like em .ill check into the tax thing if i dont have to charge it for out of state i wont.

Al Kaholick 10-09-2001, 07:42 PM just one question, might be stupid, but ive seen aluminum wheels break, and i figure aluminum rings could too, how much would you charge for just a ring, if i broke one?
DaleL 10-09-2001, 07:45 PM Sorry I was refering to the 16.5's.....

without completely sticking my foot in my mouth,i would say it would be free.ive seen alot of companies wish they wouldnt have said that, but i just cant imagine breaking one of these.this is not an open invitation to see if you can break one but youll have to work your ass off to do it.so that kind of resolve would probably deserve a free ring.ive broken aluminum wheels too but they were only 1/8 inch thick where they broke.

PTO DAVE 10-09-2001, 08:19 PM Is there any way you could modify the rims I have now? I think they are Bart 16.5x 12. If not how much more for 12s instead of 9.75s. Garza 10-09-2001, 08:35 PM I definetly like em. I will look u up when the D60's are ready. I do have a few q's.
Is the wheel steel and the ring the aluminum part? . Any extra charges for different lug patterens? I would need 8 lug, but for everyone else? When the Pirate member deal is over, Is there going to be any extra charge for a special off-set? Definetly check on that tax thing, people from out of state shouldn't have to pay tax.
WTOchevota 10-09-2001, 08:43 PM Right on man, They did work well at the comp, I'll probly hook up for a set later on, when the $ isn't so tight. I like the grooves" they grip the rocks better"
very kewl looking... I'm starting a new sammy project since I just sold my sammy.... so when I'm ready for wheels I'll be looking into it... how much for shipping to canada by the way?

i have alluminum ringed beadlocks right now and i cant even bend them and they have be well used.... that shits tuff at the right thickness..... i think youll be ok with that kinda garuntee........ other than an actual collision i dont see them breakin.....
how easy are they to install, my trail readys are a mother... is there a centering ring?
im definately gonna support your business... 16.5 8 lugs just not during the speacial.

BIGFECK 10-10-2001, 09:07 AM o.k. ill try to answer everything, ricktard yes the outer ring is the only thing thats aluminum although i have been kicking around building some all aluminum models.the price stays the same no matter what lug pattern or backspace.pto dave id rather not do used wheels, but i need to get some of these sets out so people can see them so email me your number and well talk.badassjeepguy theyre actually not bad to install,i know where your coming from on the tr's mine self center and arent that hard to install or remove.

Wow - I can't believe I missed this thread
A couple of questions...
Do you hav any pics AFTER they ahve been used on the trail? I know my MRT's are pretty scraped up around the bead area - I would like to see how those ribs look after some good rash.
Also, do you have any plans to alter the machining of the outer rings later? I am still not sure if I like them like that, but they are growin' on me
Would you sell the wheels without the outer ring and let the customer supply his own?
Thanks - and good luck in your business!
