: 75 chevy K-10 or 78 waggy D44?

Unfortunately I only have 1 local 4x4 junkyard. I was just there and they only had a D44 from a 78 waggy (without flat knuckles) and a D44 from a K-10. Which would be harder to convert to high steering for a CJ-7? For the chevy I know I'd have to have both knuckles removed anyways for the proper caster. Couldn't I just do the same for the waggy? Have both knuckles removed and have flat top knuckles installed? I'm going to be running a SOA setup and will still be running the shackles inside the frame not on the out side.

Which would be easier and less cost expensive? With both axles I know I'd have to cut the spring pads off and weld new ones on. I also know that with the waggy I'd have to make a flat spot on the differential.

im using 76 waggy axles and you can just use flat tops off a newer wagoneer axle or chevy 10 bolt flat tops. And then mill, drill, and tap those for high steer

No chevy 10 bolt ever had flat top knuckles from the factory. 1976 was around the last year that the D44's came with flat top knuckles in a chevy. :flipoff2:

the 75 chevy IS the flat top axle.
